Higgins Elementary provides a rich selection of extracurricular classes to support student learning and development. Our goal is to offer well-rounded opportunities that inspire each student’s unique talents and interests. Students participate in daily PE and enjoy a rotating schedule of computer, music, and library classes, ensuring they engage with each special at least once a week, and often more frequently.

Higgins Elementary Physical Education (PE) class is all about movement, teamwork, and healthy habits! Our PE program provides students with fun and engaging activities that promote physical fitness, coordination, and sportsmanship. Through a variety of games, exercises, and skill-building activities, students develop strength, flexibility, and endurance while learning the importance of staying active. Our PE teachers emphasize teamwork, respect, and perseverance, creating a positive environment where every student feels encouraged and supported. Music
Our music program is designed to inspire creativity, confidence, and a lifelong appreciation for music. Through singing, rhythm exercises, instrument exploration, and movement activities, students learn the fundamentals of music in an engaging and supportive environment. Our program nurtures each child’s musical potential, helping them develop key skills in listening, performing, and collaborating with others. With opportunities to perform and explore various musical styles and cultures, students build self-expression and teamwork. Computer
In computer class, students embark on a journey to become confident and capable digital learners. Our curriculum introduces essential skills in typing, internet safety, coding basics, and digital citizenship, all within a safe and supportive environment. Through interactive lessons and hands-on projects, students learn how to navigate technology responsibly, develop problem-solving skills, and foster creativity. From creating digital presentations to understanding foundational coding concepts, our computer class equips students with the knowledge and confidence to thrive in a technology-driven world.
